  Does A City Have A Right To Limit "Bible Study" In A Home With A Group Of People?

  i saw an article today about a ban on home bible studies in california (san juan capastrano).

  if more than 3 were involved, it was considered by the town, a "church".. i don't think this was posted here.. to me, this is really going too far!!

  As long as they don't disobey laws regarding parking, noise levels, commerce, etc, they should be protected by our constitutional rights in this area.

  I am an atheist, and I would HATE being the neighbors who had to put up with this. But, I am also a supporter of rights of the people. What if this was applied to the boy-scouts, tupperware parties, garage sales, backyard picnics, family reunions? Nope. The municipality that is seeking to do this is way off base, and I hope the California Supreme Court gets the case in time and pitches it into the Pacific.

  And dear Fartbethel [what an unusual screen-name], you have apparently never been treated like shit after 4 or 5 decades of 'dedicated service' by everyone you know, for your 'terrible sin' of finding out your religion was lying to you the whole time, eh?

  Try it, you might find it a pleasant experience, with no bitterness or need to vent whatsoever.

  I turned 56 last month. I understand. Though I have never used a jackhammer, I am a person who loves 'projects' in my home. I am finding myself sore and moving slowly more often these days following a rigorous chore. The big problem is with our minds' refusal to believe we are older now. We still think we can do what we did at 21.

  For the most part, I think we should do what we want, as long as we can. But when you find a line that should not be crossed [and jackhammers is a notable example] then it might be wise to not cross it again.

  Rest up, for soon you will push yourself again. Keep living.
